Russia sells more oil than prior to Ukraine invasion
The shift: India and China account for approximately 90% of Russia’s seaborne crude exports, with each country snapping up an average of 1.5 million barrels per day according to Kpler data.
In contrary: Europe now takes in only 8% of Russia’s oil exports.
Liquid gold: India, the world’s third largest oil importer, previously used Russia for about 1% of its total volumes prior to the war in Ukraine, but now buys 51% of its oil from Russia.
IBM selling previous acquisition
Weather forecast: International Business Machines (IBM) is in consideration to selling its weather business.
Previously: The division was acquired in a deal that included the apps and websites of the Weather Channel and Weather Underground. It completed the acquisition in January 2016.
Sell-off: IBM has since sought to reposition itself around cloud-computing and has sold legacy infrastructure unit Kyndryl Inc.
Salary of Amazon’s CEO
2022 pay: According to Amazon’s annual-proxy statement, Andy Jassy was paid $1.3 million in 2022, including a $317,500 base salary plus another $981,000 in 401(k) plan contributions and security costs (due to him not receiving any stock awards during the year).
Previously: In 2021, Andy received $212.7 million when he got promoted to CEO, and in 2020 his total compensation was $35.8 million.
His stock: According to his stock-vesting schedule, Andy vested $31.9 million in 2022 and is expected to vest $18.9 million in 2023.
