Meta integrating Twitter like features
Next prey: Meta’s Instagram (global visual platform behemoth) is now going after Twitter.
Apparently: Instagram is launching a separate text-based app similar to the concept of Twitter. Reportedly, the internal codename for the app is called “P92,” “Project 92,” or “Barcelona”.
The connection: Users are able to link their Instagram accounts onto the new app and bring along their followers as well as bio, handle, and verification.
Media conglomerates pushing for more ads
On speaker: The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger puts new emphasis on ad-supported streaming.
Others: Paramount Global and NBCUniversal have endorsed that they’ve had cheaper ad tiers since the beginning. With Warner Bros. Discovery having such options for consumers too.
Interestingly: Including Netflix which was against advertising for years, entered the ad-supported tier.
Spain harnessing the power of nature
Going green: Spain was able to generated enough energy from wind, sun, and water to meet the needs of its mainland from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Less pain: Green energy reduces emissions, is profitable and can reduce costs.
For example: Danish company Ørsted with a net profit of $2 billion in 2022, produces 90% of its energy from renewable resources.
